![]() Constant email communication with unclear direction. Orangetheory Careers Coach Head Fitness Coach Studio Manager Assistant Studio. Some of the most self centered individuals I’ve ever worked with, most only caring about how they look and what they are wearing for the day. Upper management constantly hands out guilt trips. Employees are allowed to come and go as they please as there is no attendance “process” to adhere to, which means you’ll have to cover for peanuts. Rude, lying, unappreciative customers every single day. Other employees including the snotty, rude and unimpressive, unintelligent coaches they hire who sleep with the members is another story. You will be reprimanded for enforcing “processes” Zero structure with this company. Upper management cares nothing about your home life and they will work you to death. The work life balance when in a Studio Manager Role - forget it!! Being a studio manager means you’ll just be used from both ends. The absolute most disorganized organization I’ve ever worked for. You will be constantly tired & mentally drained. Most pay between 26,811 to 49,651 per year. Oftentimes, I was expected to provide compensation to my staff out of my own pocket- as if a $5 Starbucks gift card is supposed to help and motivate an underpaid and overworked staff. The average annual Orangetheory Fitness Trainer salary in CA is 38,194. Trying to get your employees a raise from upper management is impossible as well- causing tension between you and your employees who expect you to provide some compensation for their hard work. Average Orangetheory Fitness hourly pay ranges from approximately 23. Employees can make more money at a fast food restaurant but are given the expectations to work in a high-stress environment often alone, and are not offered commission on sales. The average Orangetheory Fitness salary ranges from approximately 45,491 per year for Sales Associate to 60,000 per year for Studio Manager. Hiring hourly workers for $10-12/hour is difficult, as the job asks a lot but compensates little. At the same time, denied PTO multiple occasions after working extremely long hours with no days off in sight. I spent many weeks working 7-10 days straight with no days off, and no empathy from upper management. If you, as a manager, are sick- you’re expected to find your own coverage even if you don’t have that staff availability.upper management provides little to no help. You will be living paycheck to paycheck as you will have little to no time outside of work to grocery shop, cook, or live a quality life. The 50K base pay is not worth the work you have to put in. Being a manager is even more frustrating- you are expected to work 50+ hours a week and will not see overtime on the weeks that you have to work 60 or more when understaffed or if staff is out/sick. Manager salary is fairly substantial however they are paid out vacation meaning they are on call 24/7 and never get a break from the studio.Starting as a sales associate is difficult because you will not be paid a living wage and will not see a significant raise, ever. If you’re hired as a Sales Associate and start making sales, the likelihood you’ll be promoted into Management is high, simply because there’s always a need. OTF South in particular can’t hold management and their studios are suffering as a result of the turnover. On top of this, you’re expected to close every sale and if you don’t, you’re in trouble. You will be forced to forge signatures on Membership Agreements and make it impossible for members to cancel. If this isn’t bad enough, their business practices are nothing shy of illegal. If you aren’t “cute” or have a foreign name, the Regional Manager will throw out your application entirely. The company specifically only hires pretty, blondes and your Facebook will be looked at before your resume. Not only will you have no work/life balance but you will be forced into a culture that is racist, full of drama and sees constant turnover. OTF South is the worst company I have ever worked for. ![]()
